About Three Fires Wine


We started Three Fires Wine with a mission to make exceptional wine, especially red wine, exclusively from Michigan grapes. Northern Michigan lies on the 45th parallel, the same parallel as Burgundy and Bordeaux, France. Michigan’s climate mimics some of the microclimates of the greatest French wine-growing regions in the world. Michigan can produce world-class wine.


Michigan’s wine industry is young, emerging and has not reached its peak. Our vision is not only to be on the forefront of the expansion of Michigan’s wine industry on to the national and international stage, but to play a vital role in its success.


Three Fires Wine opened its tasting room doors in Suttons Bay, Michigan in early Fall 2013 offering three white wines and four red wines. We chose a sampling of the best wine from all of Michigan’s AVA (American Viticulture Areas) regions and blended the wines to enhance the aroma, flavor, body and finish of each. Our wines are designed to be food-friendly, complex and balanced.
