Three Fires Wine Opens to the Public in Suttons Bay
Three Fires Wine opens its doors to the public today in Suttons Bay, Michigan. The new winery tasting room is located on M22 at Hilltop Road in beautiful Leelanau County at the West Bayshore Village. Three Fires Wine shares tasting room space with Skipping Stone Cellars, another new winery that also opens its doors today.
Three Fires Wine specializes in Michigan red wines and offers four outstanding dry, red wines made exclusively from Michigan grapes. They offer three dry white wines also made from Michigan grapes. All wines are crafted in the French style of wine making from classic European vinifera varietals such as Merlot and Chardonnay. Each wine is designed to be complex, balanced and food friendly.
Three Fires Wine choose its name from the “Council of the Three Fires,” a 796AD Native American historical alliance between three primary Indian tribes that bonded across Michigan. The land they inhabited spanned the Northern shores of Lake Michigan in the Lower Peninsula. All of Three Fires Wines grapes come from that region.
The owners of Three Fires Wine believe that Michigan’s wine industry is emerging to become a great world wine region that has not reached its peak.
