Three Fires Wine Pinot Noir Flight is a Hit
Since launching our Pinot Noir flight in the tasting room, sales of Pinot Noir have skyrocketed. We started offering a flight of three Leelanau Peninsula Pinot Noir last year. The flight is hugely popular and so is the wine. Our visitors enjoy being able to line up three glasses as the same time and taste all three wines. They can compare wines against each other.
The three wines include:
- 2010 Pinot Noir – The Archduke’s Daughter – Leelanau Peninsula, $24
- NV Pinot Noir – The Archduke’s Daughter – Leelanau Peninsula, $32
- 2012 Pinot Noir – Three Fires Wine – Leelanau Peninsula, $65
Some people drink each taste until it’s gone before going on to the next wine, while others smell and taste the wines back and forth as they compare. Some people close their eyes and try to guess which wine is which with many succeeding. Most often the experience ends with a purchase of one or more bottles, but some people just enjoy the tasting experience and don’t purchase a bottle.
All three wines sell very well. The 2010 and the non-vintage Pinot Noir wines sell equally while the Three Fires Pinot Noir sells about half as much.
